Foo Fighters, med sine fem priser måtte se seg slått av Adeles seks statuetter under Grammy-utdelingen i Los Angeles i natt. Adele hadde fem priser før den siste kategorien, årets album skulle deles ut. Der var Foo Fighters også nominert, men Grammy-kampen dem i mellom endte dermed i Adeles favør 6-5. Adele takket for den sjette prisen gråtkvalt og rørt.

Kanye West, som ikke var til stede på utdelingen i natt, vant også fire priser - tre for egne ting og den fjerde for samarbeidet med Jay-Z på «Otis» fra albumet «Watch The Throne».

Skrillex hentet tre priser, mens soulsangeren Cee Lo Green, crooneren Tony Bennett, indiefavorittene Bon Iver og folkduoen The Civil Wars er blant dem som har plukket med seg to priser. Countrystjerna Taylor Swift stoppet på to priser, og måtte se årets countryalbum gå til Lady Antebellum, men fikk til gjengjeld stående applaus for framføringen av låten som ga henne de to Grammy-prisene, «Mean».

Alison Krauss vant sin 27. Grammy etter å ha vunnet bluegrasskategorien.

De norske nominerte nådde ikke opp. Stargate var blant annet nominert i prestisjekategorien Record of the Year for Katy Perrys «Firework», men ble slått av Adeles «Rolling In The Deep». Pianisten Leif Ove Andsnes, lydmagikerne i plateselskapet 2L/Lindberg Lyd og operasangeren Marianne Beate Kielland må nøye seg med nominasjonsæren.
