Teppet går opp for «Rome».

DERMED FLYTTES VI til Gallia. I sterkt undertall vinner romerne slag etter slag. Kampene raser. Sverd krysses. Blod flyter.

Men snart forstår du hvorfor romerne seirer. «Gå i formasjon!». Soldatene klumper seg sammen. «Gå i formasjon!!!».

hovedkonsulent for TV-serien.

The realisme

Have you or anyone you know used a time machine to go back to rome to se how it looks like since it looks so realistic? :)

Have somebody gotten hurt during the filming?

What was the most exiting by making rome for you?
    Innsendt av: Lars-arne
Yes, I used my time machine.
I only think that feelings were hurt on ROME. No physical injuries.

Mikael Salomon

Obscure actors?

I haven't heard of any of those actors in "Rome" before, is that just because I live in Norway, or are they a bit obscure?
    Innsendt av: Jarle
Several of the actors are theater actors, but most are well known

Mikael Salomon

What made Titus Pullo change?

I never quite captured what event (if any) made Titus Pullo change to become the "caring" person as opposed to the character he was introduced to be in the beginning of the series? Was it just that he sobered up, or was it also the fact that he fell in love or was there another reason...?
    Innsendt av: Trancton
You can make that deduction for yourself, but I believe it was because he fell in love...

Mikael Salomon

Do you think people dressed better in the Roman Empire than they do now?

And: Do you agree that new rules which include molesting athletes would make winter sports more popular today?
    Innsendt av: Alp
I can only tell you that everyone in the Roman costumes were freezing. Maybe you should come in from the cold and make sense of your second question?

Mikael Salomon

Niobe

Will she return, or has she been written out of the series?
    Innsendt av: Trancton
Niobe is very dead

    Dear Mr. Salomon.

I just have to tell you that it's very nice of you to attend this online questionaire. It's not every day we have a highly successful Danish director at our disposal.

Best of luck with any future projects, I have enjoyed many of your works. Also, I can't wait to watch Rome.
    Innsendt av: Den anonyme trehest
Thank you. Good luck to you

ROME Title sequence

why is the title sequence so crap compared to the rest of the series?
it doesnt fit the overall style at all, and it looks like a cheesy porn-flick sequence..

apart from that, i love it :)
    great series!
    Innsendt av: Esp-1
de gustibus disputantum est

Caesar

Why do the people call him Caesar from the start? Wasn'n this a title he took when he made himself a caesar?

next season

hello! i have seen the show back in the states, and i'm a hardcorefan of the roman history! now we all can see how rome accually was.

And! ROME is THE greatest serie of all time:)

What next?

Hi! I've downloaded the complete series off the web (yeah I'm "one of those"...), simply because I couldn't stand waiting seven days for a new episode when the series itself was so damn compelling. Is it true that you have not started shooting season two yet? When will that be aired, 2007? What will you build the second series on, seeing that one of the more central characters are no more (don't want to spoil it for the others, but you know who I mean :-)
    Innsendt av: Trancton

Mikael Salomon

medium reviews

why didn't the show get great reviews in the US?
    Innsendt av: Riise
that can certainly be discussed as there were both grea, and not-so-great reviews in the US

Mikael Salomon

Historically correct?

How historically correct are the costumes, architecture and the general setting seen in this series?

Battle scenes

I have watched season 1 and loved it, although something is still lacking..
Why aren`t some of the battles actually shown? You can go a long way with some people and CGI these days.. :)
    Innsendt av: Vegard Henriksen
The producers were playing into the strenght of TV; Character development and and only action to support that. It was never a question of money

Mikael Salomon

Battlestar Galactica 2004

    Seen it?
    Innsendt av: Ninja Vogge

My husband and I bought Canal+ yesterday so we could watch the series. Wonderful!!n I'm really looking forward to the rest of this.

    Innsendt av: Per-Erik

Downloading

The series is showing on a expensive cable channel, so most of us must download the series to watch it. Is it better not to see it than to do something criminal to get to see it?
    Innsendt av: Tore Nedlaster
Well, you tell me: Would you steal a videotape from a store?

Mikael Salomon

How long....

...did it take for you to direct?
    Innsendt av: GR
we had 17 days to shoot one episode

Mikael Salomon

TV-series

I spend way more time watching tv series now than watching movies.

My favourites are Sopranos, The Wire, Arrested Development and Curb Your Enthusiasm. And Carnivale and Rome, of course.

    What are your favourites?
    Innsendt av: Anders
Hard to say, I'm not watching TV very much

Mikael Salomon

Collaboration with Spielberg

I'm a great admirer of Spielberg. How would you describe your experiences working on him on projects like Always and Band of Brothers?
    Innsendt av: Lasse Johansen
Steven is a crative force. I have nothing but respect and admiration for him. A true talent. Just go see Munich!

Mikael Salomon

Experiences as a cinematographer

Hi, I have great respect for your excellent work as a cinematographer, especially on outstanding and quite revoulutionary work on films as The Abyss and Backdraft. How did your experience working as a cinematographer help you in your approach to the historical epic that is HBO's Rome?
    Innsendt av: Lasse Johansen
It's hard to quatify, but it's an experience that's been vaulable to me in my career as a director

Mikael Salomon

Latin

Why not use latin as the spoken language in "Rome"? It would add a nice touch of realism.
    Innsendt av: Ragnar Stormsalig
This series was primarily made for a mainstream US audience who is not used to subtitles and certainly doesn't speak latin...

Mikael Salomon

Viking?

    Hi

    What`s next? A viking movie?

    Birgitte :-)
    Innsendt av: Birgitte
Yes!

Mikael Salomon

Number of directors

How many directors were involved in making the first season?
    Innsendt av:
I believe 8 directors wre involved

Mikael Salomon

Hello

I loved BoB. And i really enjoy Rome as well. Not only because i love series about ancient times, and the general stuff guys like..war:P But its very uncanded.. peoples lims get chopped off.. childern have sex with their sisters etc.. It doesnt smell american at all. I wish some of the drama could speed up abit tho, but ending of the last episode aired in the arena was back to abit more action.
Anyways just wanted to say well done. Hope it lasts..and it evolves abit instead of just playing around the same characters for 8 seasons..

    Innsendt av: Two
Thanks

how do you get the courage do hire relatively unknown actors like cillian hinds for such an expensive prestigeproject like Rome?
    Innsendt av: palakon
The cast was briliantly talented British actors. HBO didn't count on name value to attract viewer, but gambled on ROME to be worthwhile viewingby itself

Mikael Salomon

hi

did you get the sword and the møøse?
    Innsendt av: petter bronsta
I don't know what a Møøse is...

Mikael Salomon

Historically correct?

How important do you feel that it is that "Rome" gives a more historically correct view of the daily lives and events than earlier movies have portrayed? And do you think ordinary people are ready for the full and uncensored history?
    Innsendt av: GeekGirl
Its pretty accurate, but accuracy is no excuse for bad drama. Don't forget this is entertainment!

Mikael Salomon

Germanians?

Will the Germanians be included in this serie together with the Galls?
Or does that war happen later in the history of the Roman empire?
    Innsendt av: Lars
Don't know

Mikael Salomon

Rome Props!

Hi there! First of all i want to say that Rome is one of the most awesome series ever to be aired on TV!

    Now, here's my questions:
Is it possible to buy _all_ the props that you are using when you're done filming for a small amount of money? I mean, you can't charge full prize for them since its second hand goods ;) Who can i get in touch with to make such a deal?
    Innsendt av: Kjell Rune Monsø
I'm sure the production will use the props for season 2, don't you think??

Mikael Salomon

Thank you for taking a chance.

From the mind of a history student.

(sorry to say) I've seen several episodes allready at a buddy of mine which downloads it from the internet (again sorry but I can't afford Canal+) and must say that I am quite impressed.
Big kudos on good work and taking a chance on spending that much money on a topik mostly reserved to historians.

When will season two start? Did the series achieve the praise it deserve in the states?

Again, big thank you to the chance taker and hope you'll spread the word so more will take a risk for the sake of good televisjon.

(Btw: Loved your episodes on Band O. B. , best series I've ever seen)
    Innsendt av: Øyvind Engevik
Thatnks. Look at earlier response for season 2

Mikael Salomon

Sex-Moral

Do you believe that christianity is the major cause for the cange in perspective on sex? If you compare the attitude towards sex from then, and after rome was christianized (and the perspective we have today).
    Innsendt av: Magnus
I don't know, and your question is off-topic.
cheers,
Mikael

Mikael Salomon

Historical accuracy

I know this question might be difficult to answer straight, but how historically accurate is "Rome"?
Are all of the main characters based on historical persons?

Love the series, keep up the good work!
    Innsendt av: Erlend Grytbakk Wold
Yes, it's pretty accurate and all the main characters, including Lucius and Titus are based on real accounts

Mikael Salomon

The end

I've seen the series, but what Im wondering is the end. Why did Vorenus's wife die, what was the meaning? Other than that, thanks for a good show, I like that theres some nudity, makes it all better and more real.
    Innsendt av: Niklas
There was a lot of debate about the demise of Vorenus' wife, but it was the intention, yes.

Mikael Salomon

It is good!

I have seen all the episodes, and found Rome a very good series. I haven't seen all episodes of a series since I was a kid, if ever. Will there be more?
    Innsendt av: Nils
yes, season 2 is in pre production

Mikael Salomon

Thank you for Rome

Thank you for this awesome show, I've seen the episodes and I can't wait for the DVDs to get out (hopefully packed with extras?).

The onscreen chemistry between Lucius and Titus is very good, I could watch them just sit around talking about past battles for an entire season!

I got only good things to say about this show.

There is so much story during this period, because of the show I've started reading history, and what happened during that period was incredible, facinating material to read about.

Thank you for one of the best shows ever! =)

    Innsendt av: Andreas
you're welcome

Mikael Salomon

Vorenus and Pullo

Great series! Will Cæsar return from the grave in season 2? (Just joking)

I like the way the story is told from the two "common men" Vorenus' and Pullo's point of view - like the peasants in Kurosawas "The Hidden Fortress" (or the robots in "Star Wars")

Who came up with that idea, and what freedoms did it give you story-wise?
    Innsendt av: Rune
Bruno Heller wrote the scripts, but I believe John Milius came up wit the original idea

Mikael Salomon

Congratulations.

I'm an archaeology student, with great love for Greek and Roman histiry, and I just wanted to say congratulations. With Rome, you've proven that the need of special effect is muchly overrated.
I've watched Rome, and I just loved it. I loved the the story of Lucius and Titus Pullo, and the details surrounding the everyday people of Rome.
I can't wait 'till the next season.

Now, do you know when the DVD will be released?
    Innsendt av: Anna.
see earlier response

Mikael Salomon

keep it real ^^

When do you think the second season is done? (hope its not 7 more years)

Are you going to end "Rome" with Octavian becoming Caesar Augustus (IMP·CAESAR·DIVI·F·AVGVSTVS)?

How many seasons of "Rome" do you have planed?

Love the show by the way.

what have you learned about history, about Rome that you did not know before? Something that facinated you...

Great series.

I would just like to applaud the directing of "the fighting scene that blew my mind" in episode eleven of Rome . Did you do it or did you have consultants or directing help to do it?

It was brilliant. I'd say it's the best melee-fighting scene I've ever seen, even compared to the ones on the big screen.
I was standing in my couch going bananas with the cheering.

I'll be damn sure to buy this when it comes out on DVD in Norway. Thanks for my favourite show.

    Keep up the good work!
    Innsendt av: O-bob
Thanks for the roses. I had a great crew to help me, but I am taking full credit for not only that scene, but the whole episode!

Mikael Salomon

Caesar's hair and lack there of

I can't wait to see this series!!
Now that this enormous undertaking is finished - congrats!

In danger of being a party pooper; Isn't it an established fact that Caesar was already bolding in his twenties? This was used against him by political opponents as a sign of weakness, and should be relative to the series. Or was it too much for the big wigs i HBO to accept a lead character without the thick, short cropped hairstyle everyone knows from the old 'Hollyrome' movies? Also, his nickname
'Caesar' is linked to the colour of his hair, which supposedly was red. From the press pictures C seems to have thick and dark hair, so...

red and bold - too much for HBO?

Oh, and for us who won't be able to see 'Rome' on TV - when is the DVD out in Europe?

    Innsendt av: Petter Snekkestad
I didn't know that about Caesar...
DVD in Europe late fall or early 2007

Mikael Salomon

Rome and the US

You mention in the interview the use of violence in "Rome", as something that is good or bad, depending on who you are violent against.

This makes me think on violence against American civilians, compared to violence against Iraqi or Afghani civilians (arabs).

Is this relative, rather than absolute, moral behaviour in "Rome" a comment on US society after 9/11, with regard to violence and values?

Can we in "Rome" find a comment on the change in values, that may have occured in the US after 9/11?

    Innsendt av: Bjørn Leo Sørlund
I think not. You ma be looking for something that's not there or even intended to be there...

Mikael Salomon

Vikinger

    Gratulation with the Rome-serie.

When will we see the first serie or movie with Vikings?
Soon filmmakers have made big motionpictures or series of every great time of history - but yet not the Viking-periode. Theire crazy behaviour should be good actionmovie, or what?

    Innsendt av: Helge
I'm producing and will be directing a series based on the book Røde Orm. expect it in 2008

Mikael Salomon

Season 2

    Thanks!

The first season was awsome! Not only superb acting and great plot, but the sets, man, the sets!

And the HDTV format really brought justice to the stylish visual design of the series, can't wait for the DVD!

-Do you know when there will be a DVD release available? And what will be included from the preparations as extra features?

Looking forward to season 2, when can we expect more info on this?

    Innsendt av: Erik
Glad you liked it and that you saw it in High-Def! Look at Canal+ website for more info

Mikael Salomon

Locations

Where was "Rome" shot, and have you completed the filming?
    Innsendt av: Maximus
Filming on seasoon 1 was completed in the spring of 2005 in Cinecitta outside of Rome and on location in Italy

Mikael Salomon

Will there be a second seson?

The first seson is much like a rather long movie, covering one major topic, the rise and fall of Julius Cæsar. If there will come a second seson, (I presume you will not spinn the story around the view of Titus and Lucius?) what era will it be about?
    Innsendt av: Mats Holm
season 2 will center on Pullo and Vorenus

Mikael Salomon

Season 2...

Do you have any idea when season 2 will be broadcast in USA? Am I too ambitious if I'm hoping for the premiere of the second season this fall?

Great job, by the way, Rome is a super show! Combining history with entertainment is such an ingenious idea - keep up the good work!
    Innsendt av: Abilas
Thanks. end of 2006/early 2007

Mikael Salomon

Saddles

iwer just looking at the picture from the series in the article. Stirrups werent invented or brought to the european scene for another 5-700 years, meaning the roman cavalry rode with legs dangling free. So the use of very modern ''western'' saddles, was it accidental or by purpose??
    Innsendt av: Jørgen
you're absolutely right. we tried as well as we could to hide the stirrups, and you can only admire the romans riding without them. sharp eye!

Mikael Salomon

Octavian

    Hello!
I've seen all twelve episodes of Rome, and one of the characters who interest me the most is Ocavian with his cool, analythic mind. Will he get a bigger part in the next season? Being the future emperor and all...
I also appreciated seeing new sides of Roman culture, especially the religious side, wich struck me to be quite barbaric.
    Thanks!
    Innsendt av: Herman Westrum Thorsen
Octavian should be favored in the next season

the making of Rome

Is the film out on dvd , or when will it be released ?
    Innsendt av: leon eriksen
in about 6 months

Mikael Salomon

Why Tv?

Why make tv instead of several good films..The commercial breaks and dramaturgie to make the viewers keep watching after the breaks. . Tv is tapestry, film is art.
    Innsendt av: Tom
You can go in a lot more depth with your characters in a 12 hour mini-series as opposed to a 2 hour film. If you don't want to watch TV go in the cinema, that's cool...

Mikael Salomon

Gymsokker

Do you wear gymsokker (gymsocks) at work?
    Innsendt av: GV
how did you know?

Mikael Salomon

Skiing 2

Have you ever considered to make a tv-series about cross-country skiing? At the local high school I was voted as the most talented actor, so I would not mind a part in series like that. Considering that I im somewhat of a ski-god.
    Innsendt av: Arve Skåren
I hope everone else thinks you're a ski god. What is a ski God anyway? :-)

Mikael Salomon

How did you come up with the idea

of this show? i dont have canal + so i cant watch it but it seems awesome. good luck =)
    Innsendt av: thomas
John Millius brought the idea to HBO

Mikael Salomon

Skiing

    Hi!
I was wondering if you have ever tried cross-country skiing before? I am looked upon as something of a Ski-god here in Norway. Thanks
    Innsendt av: Arve Skåren
Yes, I skied in Geilo and Lillehammer when I was a kid

Gratitude

I would just want to express my immense gratitude for the fact that someone is not afraid to serve the Roman Empire so much closer to it's true colours than it has ever been shown before! It is such a relief to see a television show so genuine in it's storytelling, that it does not bother with pious morals regarding the aspects of intimacy and violence, and because of that, it trancends into a higher form of entertainment, something that stick to your brain, something that induces a hunger to understand and learn, as well as being entertained. Being an enthusiast of the period and acting student, it has been a pure joy to sit back and watch the brilliance which is "Rome"! Thank you!
    Innsendt av: Ingrid S. Windsland
Thank you!

The aging of Octavian

    Hello dear mr Salomon.

I wonder, how did you approach the problem with the aging of the young boy Octavian during this season? The storyline goes from 56 to 44 BC, that is 12 years!

As far as I could tell from watching season 1, the actor playing Octavian did not age 12 years, though it did seem that he grew a little older.

Have you had this in mind?
    Innsendt av: Vegard Ottervig
In real life he aged 8 months! Otherwise it's hard to age a young actor without going too far. Example: Look at Heat Ledger when you see Brokeback Mountain

Band of Brothers

    Hi,
I was just wondering if you know about any upcoming projects from HBO (or any other production-company) that is similar to the fantastic series "Band of Brothers"?? I have watched all ten episodes at least 5 times, and I still get carried away when watching.. I hope "Rome" will be just as good!!!
    Innsendt av: Captain Speirs
Possibly: The Pacific about WWII in the pacific

Mikael Salomon

Great Tv serie!

I have allready seen season 1, i couldn`t wait for it to start on Norwegian TV. When will Season 2 be aired in the US?
    Innsendt av: Ole
May start fall 2006/early 2007

Mikael Salomon

End of season 2?

    Hi Mikael.

Thank you for a great show!

Have you decided when season 2 is going too end? The battle of Actium?

Is Max Pirkis going too play Octavian in the second season?

    Lars
    Innsendt av: Lars
I believe that Max will be in season 2. Otherwise I don't know too much about it as I most likely will not be available to direct any episodes

Mikael Salomon

Directing an episode of a series

I really admire you and other directors working in television. You see, I also want to be a director, and right now, the most fresh and innovative things I see comes from TV, in my opinion. Keep up the good work, and maybe you could slip some of your originality over to the moviemakers in Hollywood too? They really could need some...;)

    Now, my question:
Do you feel that you as director manage to keep the episodes you direct as a part of and in the same style of the series as a whole and at the same time bring in your personal voice and signature? If so, how do you do it? How do you start? It seems to me as a great challange, especially when coming in from outside to make one specific episode...
    Innsendt av: Simen Gjevre
I was maybe closer to the series that other directors as I worked on not only "my own", but shot material for several other episodes.
You definately put your personal imprint on each episode that you do. In fact, it's expected...

Mikael Salomon

Battle Boy

Hi Mikael, i am wondering if its true that there will be a Band Of Brothers for the Pacific Theatre. I am a huge BoB fan and i am really hoping that this is on the doorstep.
    Innsendt av: Daniel
see earlier response

Mikael Salomon

Where do you live?

I just wonder, where do you live?
    Innsendt av: Naglez Frikkels
Los Angeles

Mikael Salomon

Season 2

I've heard rumours about a season 2. Will season 2 continue directly from where season 1 ended, or does it take place later during the empire
    Innsendt av: Fan
I frankly don't know

Mikael Salomon

Seasons

How many seasons are planned for Rome?
    Innsendt av: L.
so far only the second season is on the books

Mikael Salomon

Grand Battles?

The show was great! Good casting, perfect environments and suspence. The writing and screenplay was an achievement, good to see John Milius back in business!
I thought Cesar's campaign in Greece was a minor dissappointment. I was looking forward to some massive battlescenes, but they lacked. How come? (by the way; the gladiator scene where Pullo is to be executed is simply awesome!)
    Innsendt av: roger
Thaks for highlighting episode 11 (the gladiator fight) that I directed. it was fun to do....
Sorry the Greek campaign did live up to your expectations

Mikael Salomon

Language

Did you ever consider doing the series with all latin speakin roles? Like the passion.
    Innsendt av: Fredrik
A mainstream US audience audience doesn't have the patience to read substitles. They're not used to it the way we are in Scandinavia

Mikael Salomon

Cleopatra

Hello! Thank you for making this series, I am so interested in knowing more about the ancient Roman Empire and this is perfect! Will we get to see Cleopatra? And if so, as Julius Ceasar's or Antonius' lover?
    Innsendt av: Cathrin
The new season will likely deal w Cleopatra

Mikael Salomon

Why

    Whay should i watch Rome?
    Innsendt av: John
You don't have to...

Mikael Salomon

How

Can hbo afford to make all these tv-shows? How many subscribers do the have?

and, what will be the next big thing?
    Innsendt av:
Not to worry, HBO have millions of subscribers and have also sold to many countries

Mikael Salomon

DVD?

I am a Norwegian student, passionate about Roman history, that unfortunately do not have access to any of the networks that are showing Rome! My question is when/if you are planning to release the series on DVD, so that I can enjoy it as well?
    Innsendt av: Endre Lunde
end of this year on DVD

Mikael Salomon

canceled

Is it true that the series is canceled? I really loved the show and abowe all the casting, Ray Steveson was great!

Will you direct any episodes in "The Pacific War"? Loved your directing in "Carentan" and 10 "Points" (Band of Brothers).

    Keep up the good work!
    Innsendt av: kjell
No, 6 to 10 more episoed of Rome will be filmed for season 2

too early to tell about The Pacific

Mikael Salomon

Band of brothers

i`ve heard that there should be another series like Band of brothers but the action should be in the pacific. Is that true? if it is do you know when it could be on the screen?
    Innsendt av: Runar Eriksen
There's a show called THE PACIFIC in the works. It's being written and realistically will not be on screen until 2007

Mikael Salomon

Season 2

    Hello Mr.Salomon,
I've seen season 1 and I enjoyed every bit of it.
How will you deal with transision to the new cast in season 2?

I really enjoyed the Grid aswell!
Keep up the good work with Rome!
    Innsendt av: Jason Jughdharree
I will not be involved in season 2 as I'm directing another series.
thanks for your review of The Grid, a show I'm proud of

Mikael Salomon

Characters in season 2

Will many of the characters from season 1 return for season 2? Won't be the same without Lucius and Titus in the cast.
I've alse read that season two got greenlighted, but the lost it because of the time it would take to start airing season two? There were worries that the fanbase would have dissapeared because of the long production time?
    Innsendt av: Smelx
Many of the characters will return. obviously titus and vorenus

Mikael Salomon

Season 2

Hi! I have seen season 1 and I think it´s great. Is season 2 ready? When can we see it in the US?
    Innsendt av: Are
season 2 probably not until late 2006/early 2007

Mikael Salomon

A compliment, and two questions

Congratulations on a fantastic series! I've seen all the episodes that are out so far, and I'm eagerly awaiting more. My question is - have you taken many artistic liberties with historical facts, both large and small, or have you tried to stick as close to the known facts as you can? Also - the big stone tablet where we see a clerk of some kind changing numbers around at the start of many episodes - is it a calendar, or some kind of overview of the prices of various produce, or what? We have a lively debate going at my house..
    Innsendt av: K.
Thanks. The stone wall is as you guessed a calendar and a replica of the real thing

Mikael Salomon

How to get a part in these shows..

Hello.. I'm really looking forward seeing this epic drama. I want to be in one of these shows.. I don't need the glamorous main character, but as a soldier or someone else in the background. Do you have any tips where to go for auditions etc ? Do you recruit actors from US/UK only?
    Innsendt av: Upcoming Actor
contact cinecitta in rome where the series is filmed

Mikael Salomon

season 2

when wil the second series of "rome" be completed?
    Innsendt av: øystein
not until late 2006 as it will only start shooting in april of 2006

Mikael Salomon

The most beautiful animal in the world

Is there any giraffes in this series?
    Innsendt av: Ove
no giraffes, duh

Mikael Salomon

Historical accuracy

    Hi!
I'm a history student at the University of Oslo, and I really hope this series will air on regular channels, and not just on cable! But to my question: How large emphasis is put on historical accuracy? In movies such as "The Gladiator", a lot was extremely far-fetched, to say the least, and it greatly annoyed me. Will you "tamper" with history, or will you try to convey a balanced and probable image of antiquity's Rome?
    Innsendt av: Lotte Holmboe
The core of the story is true to history. The interaction beyween the two lead characters is fictionalized but based on two soldiers that Caesar wrote about

DVD release ?
When will Season 1 be released on DVD ? AND please include english subtitles on the region 1 release :-)
    Innsendt av: Incubus
DVD release will probably be fall of 2006 for season 1
