Marillion svarte leserne.

(Dagbladet.no):

«Somewhere Else» er produsert av Michael Hunter, og singelen «See it Like a Baby» kommer etter planen 26. mars.

Song request
Hello! Your music is so original and so beautiful, I find it hard to describe it in words. I'm going to your consert in Oslo and I'm very exited to listen to your new music. But I also hope you will play some old songs. Can you please play "fantastic place"? I love that song!!!!

    Innsendt av: Mariann Moen
Fantastic Place is on the list of songs to play on the next tour.

the story so far...
I am a really hard-core fan of the first era of marillion together with Fish, what I liked from that period are all the "intelligent" songs and fish voice of course. I been caugth by surprise when I picked up "clutching at straws" again after some years and found out how extremly good this one actually is....-so my question will be ....-Will there ever be any joining together again with fish as a lead singer or will it just be for me to be "clutching at straws"..???
    Innsendt av: Roger
I can't ever see us and Fish joining company for more than a drink together Pete

Hi
Will just say im looking forward to you're new album as usually. I think you're latest albums are greatley underastimated. Keep up the good work !

Favoritt song at the moment : under the sun
    Innsendt av: Frode
You are a man of great taste and sensibility

Hey Pete
What is your favoritt song on the new album?
    And wy?
I can`t wait to hear it!!!!
    Hugs from Monika
    Innsendt av: Monika Müller
Hi Monika
My favourite song is See It Like A Baby

Next week
Rumours say that you play next week in Oslo. Is this true, and are there still tickets?
    Innsendt av: Bongo
I am afraid this is not true. Next time we play Oslo is on 23rd of June

23 June at the Rockerfeller
Fantastic Place is a fantastic song, and i really hope to hear this song at the consert 23 June.
The song Beautiful as well. Your music makes me cry out of joy.
    Innsendt av: Nina Brovoll
Fantastic place is probably one of the songs on a short list for the set list for the Somewhere Else tour, although I can't remember if Beautiful is on there

Hello
    Kan dere norsk?

What kind of music do you listen to?
    Innsendt av: Sunny
Nej. Good stuff really. Massive Attack Jeff Buckley Joni Mitchell Talk Talk Blue Nile Beatles Leonard Cohen

Even better...?
Hi, Pete & Steve! Thanks for giving us so much!

In what way do you think you have developed as musicians since the first h-era album?

    Herman
    Innsendt av: Herman Ekeberg
Grown up. Got better. It's natural..

inspiration
First of all, Marillion are giants and your songs will echo forever. MARBLES is my all time favourite album. What was your main inspiration for SOMEWHERE ELSE, compared to MARBLES? And what is your new masterpiece going to sound like?
    Innsendt av: Dan
The main inspiration for Somewhere Else is I think the situation Steve H was in last year when He and his wife decided to part company. This and the state of the world at the moment are the two main subjects of the album. Sound wise I think is a very lic\ve exciting sounding album compared to Marbles

Concerts
Will you come and play for us in Norway
    please...
    tanx
    Innsendt av: Viggo
23 June Oslo Rockerfeller

Revisiting Marbles
Looking back on Marbles, which songs do you reckon as the stand-out tracks?

The question goes for the 2CD release, of course. ;)
    Innsendt av: DMF
Invisible Man. Fantastic Place. Neverland. The Only Unforgivable Thing.

Fish
I have hear rumour that a reunion with fish is just around the corner? Is that true? If it's true I think that it would be cool for Marillion could have two lead vocals.
    Innsendt av: Tom
Not likely to happen any time soon. Where DO these rumours come from? Maybe Fish makes them up.

Kayleigh
Who is Kayleigh? (What's her personality?)

This song is great, - my favourite through all times!
I named my first dog after this song, (- take it as a compliment) ;-)
    - this dog was a beautiful and proud diva, which very much believed in herself... Do you like dogs???
    Innsendt av: Linda
I do like dogs although I have a Cat, a Hamster and two Fish at the moment.

Easter
    What will you do?
Make a stone of your heart?
    Will you set things right?
    When you tear them apart?
    Will you sleep at night?
With the plough and the stars alight?
    Innsendt av: Henrik
See also Easter 1916 by WB Yeats

Nice to have you in Norway.
I have been a fan for a long time. I liked Afraid of Sunlight alot. But I also love the real old stuff. Is there a chance that you will do some thing with Fish again. Maybe a duett or more. I would also like you to go a bit progressive again. ;@} I would really like that. We are friends at: http://www.myspace.com/marillion My adress is http://www.myspace.com/audiotrasher please stop by one day and drop a comment.

    Keep up the good work...

    Fan forever ;@}
    Innsendt av: Tor Gunnar Kjøllesdal
Thanks.

Fish comeback?
Is there a sightest possibility that Fish will be back on vocal and touring with you in the nearest future? How about a reunion? I watched ASIA in London and Glasgow last december and they were better than ever....Just a HINT! :-) Good luck with your new album!

    Innsendt av: Huge fan
No

AWSOME
There is something MAGICAL about Marillion, right ? :-) Wish you all the best with "Somewhere Else". Please come back to Norway on your forthcoming tour.
    Innsendt av: inguli
23 June Oslo! xx

Unplugged?
A lot of your songs would be perfect for an unplugged gig - is this something you consider?
    Innsendt av: Marius
We have played unplugged gigs in the past and although we don't have any immidiate plans for this kind of show it is always something we could work on. A lot of the songs from Somewhere Else would work well unplugged

INCREDIBLE
WOW - FRONT PAGE on Dagbladet.no !!! GREAT - Looking forward to your next album, PLEASE PLEASE include Norway on the forthcoming tour. Think You're the GREATEST BAND EVER !!!
    Innsendt av: incubus
23 June Oslo.

Norway soon?
Looking forward too your new record!! Are you planing any show in Norway soon?

    -remi, fan in Fredrikstad
    Innsendt av: Remi Drageset
23 June Rockerfeller Oslo. Hooray! See you soon.. in June..

What is the reason your fans go through so much for you?
People travel far to see you live, and you have several tribute bands in Europe. Why do you think the fans go through all of this?
    Innsendt av: Octo
Because we tell them the truth. There's so little truth in Rock n'Roll and most of it is just egoistic posturing. I think people can smell the truth instinctively and so it travels deeper into them and is more meaningful and potent. People respond to truth with passion and commitment. The music is true. So are the words. h

Dave Meegan produced the 2004 album Marbles. What was the main reason for using another producer on the new album? I liked the sound of Meegan..

    PS Yodelodedelodelodelodelobambam!! ;-)
    Innsendt av: Rael
Yeah Marbles was a great sounding album and Dave Produced it amaizingly well. However Mike Hunter mixed most of the trascks on Marbles and with this album we thought it would be a nice change to work Mike as producer.

Although a different approach this is a very exciting album for us to be involved in

Jecyl&Hyde
My wife likes the shorter song based tracks and me I'm the old progger who have been there since Grendel.

Do Marillion still want to do music for the sake of music?

Saw you in Skedsmohallen 87 and good luck with the Oslo concert this summer! (I'll be there...)

    Caprice
    Innsendt av: Caprice
As we are lucky to be in the situation of being our own record company these days, we only work on musical ideas that inspire us at the time. Sometimes these turn in to long songs like Ocean Cloud and sometimes short songs like Most toys

Hocus Pocus
Any chance to get Hocus Pocus as bonus track on somewhere else?

Your new producer had a good idea by the cover version of Toxic. Since Britney has shaved (all) her hair, and all media is focusing on her, are you atleast a little tempted to get a cheap easy single hit?

The only reason for doing it would be for the rest of the world to discover brilliant albums like Marbles!!!!
    Innsendt av: Børre
Cheap and easy... Hmm. Unfortunately we've never managed to succeed with either of those concepts. We tend to be expensive and difficult.

Most Toys
Keep hearing this track in my head after last night... Great stuff!
Who dies with the most toys? Who is the biggest gadget-freak, Mark or Rothers? ;)
    Innsendt av: marsu
I have to say Steve Rothery is our biggest gadget freek

yeah!
God damn i love your music!

Please include norway in your touring schedule!
    Innsendt av: me
God damn! It's great when people say that. xxx

Rockefeller last year
    Hi

I was on your fantastic consert in Rockefeller last year, and this is one of the best and magical conserts I have ever been to.

First of all it started with a great "warm-up"-band. I was told that the band was a Norwegian band, but I don`t remember their name. Can you please give me the name of this band, so I can buy their CD??

Then, when Marillion entered the stage, I just stood in the middle of the crowd enjoying the sound of one of the greatest vokals in the world.

Looking foreward to the 10th of april, and wish you all the best.

    Innsendt av: New Fan
Thankyou whoever you are. The band is called Gazpacho and they are a very fine bunch of guys from Oslo. You can check out their new album at marillion.com

Hey
What do you think about Norwegian girls??
    Innsendt av: HEG
Ah well you are all very beautiful and I am thinking of staying here for a long time if I can

The Invisible Man
Is it someone in the band that has ever felt like The Invisble Man? Is it a fictitious person or is it...you Steve?

That song is THE best song I've ever heard of any band in the history of music!

Please feel free to visit Norway again, and bring the other 3 guys + the instruments with you next time please! :-)

    Innsendt av: Jonas
The Invisible Man is true. And he is me. If you look REALLY carefully at your computer screen, you will find that you can't see me.

"Hocus Pocus"
"Hocus Pocus" by Focus as an encore on the "Somewhere Else" tour. Any chance?
    Innsendt av: Terje Troika
Well we did play Hocus Pocus at our convention in Holland a few weeks ago, so it is a song we couple bring out from time to time. You,ll have to wait and see

Guitar work
I really like the guitarwork and dynamicks on tunes like; splintering heart and 100 nights. Is there some similar tracks on the new album??

    Innsendt av: Espen
No similar tracks. Steve R is playing really amazing stuff though at the moment. You'll see..

Norwegian fans
Is there any significant differences between the Norwegian fans and the fans from the UK?
    Innsendt av: Annikken
I think that Norwegians as a people are probably a bit more reserved than the English But our fans here do really enjoy the concerts and can get very lively specially towards the end of a show

Best Album
What is you favoritte Marillium album ? and your favoritte album what so ever...
You have to play in Norway soon !! You have many fans here , just give it some promotion and you can easily play for 3000 in Oslo :-)
    Innsendt av: Svein
Well, we're promoting today. My favourite album is probably *Afraid of Sunlight*. Favourite album ever? Ther are so many.. Hunky Dory by Bowie, Court and Spark by Joni Mitchell, Grace by Jeff Buckley. Sgt Pepper.. everything by the Beatles. Colour Of Spring by Talk Talk..

Great Album
Thanks for yesterday! I think the new album is great, I like the sound and the power in the music and you really move people with your music. I have pre-order the album and I am looking forward to hear it again. See you 23 of june in Oslo. I love the song Out of this world!!!!
    Innsendt av: Morten
Hi Morten Thanks for all the positive remarks. I look forward to cbeing here on 23rd of June

Least favourite Marillon album?
Which Marillion album is your least favourite?
    Innsendt av: Angelina
Hi Angelina, I don,t think I have a least favourite album. When ever I listen to any of our songs I am always pleasantly suprised

Fish
Why doesn't Fish sing in your band?
    Bring back the Fish!!!!!!!!!
    Innsendt av: TH
Up yours. h

Fish
Why did Fish leave Marillion, and are there any possibility that he is ever coming back?
    Innsendt av: Tor Atle
We can't remember. It was a very long time ago. There's always a possibility that he'll come back. Whether we'll let him in is another question entirely..

Kayleigh
Denne låten er en av mine absolutt favorittlåter. Kan dere lage en like stor hit igjen?
    Innsendt av: Kenny F
Zzzzz...

Inspiration
    Hello!!

    What's your inspiration these days!?!?

    Peace!
    Innsendt av: Kg
Life. The Universe and Everything

Tour
Hi guys. Will you make it to Norway on your tour this summer/fall? Would love to see you in Oslo :)
    Innsendt av: Anders Birkenes
YES. We'll play Oslo on 23 June at the Rockerfella.

Cover-album
Sometimes you play covers of other bands live, (Like; "Let it be" and "Fake plastic tree") which sounds really great.
Do you have any plans of doing a studio-album with songs that have influenced you or which you like to play live ??
Of course played in the "Marillion-way"
    Innsendt av: Henning
Although it's an interesting idea, and we HAVE talked about it, there are no immediate plans to make a covers album. We almost have another studio album on the shelf ready to go, so we won't be recording covers any time soon.

Fantastic place
What do you think about the song Fantastic place? Is it one of your best, you think? I do. Beautiful

    Keep up the good work.
    Innsendt av: magnux
Thanks. It's one of the songs I'm proudest of. h
